Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken wings (split into flats and drumettes, patted dry)
  • 1 tbsp baking powder (aluminum-free, key for crispiness)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tbsp olive oil
For the Buffalo Sauce:
  • 1/3 cup Frank's RedHot Original Sauce (or any hot sauce)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 tbsp honey (optional, to balance the heat)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

Equipment

  • air fryer
  • Mixing bowl
  • Tongs
  • small saucepan

Method

  1. Prep Wings: Pat the chicken wings completely dry with paper towels. In a large bowl, toss the wings with olive oil, baking powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
  2. Air Fry: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Arrange the wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overcrowding. Cook for 18–20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and extra crispy.
  3. Make Buffalo Sauce: In a small bowl or saucepan, whisk together the melted butter, hot sauce, honey, and garlic powder until smooth.
  4. Toss & Serve: Transfer the hot crispy wings to a large bowl, pour the buffalo sauce over them, and toss well until fully coated. Serve immediately with ranch or blue cheese dip and celery sticks!
